The annual list compiled by New York Times films critics, this year lists Synonyms, by alum and teacher Nadav Lapid, in sixth place.
Lapid's movie is also on the LA Times list of the best films of 2019.
Synonyms is the first Israeli film to win one of the highest accolades in world cinema - the Golden Bear at last year's Berlin International Film Festival, and was also featured on the cover of Cahiers du Cinema.
Lapid contiues to teach at the School while working on his next project.
