Producer Sam Spiegel's son Adam, and granddaughter Ruby were in Israel last week for a tribute to the School in the desert.
The restored version of Lawrence of Arabia, one of the greatest epics of all times produced by Sam Spiegel and directed by David Lean, was screened for one memorable night, under the stars at the Films in the Desert Film Festival. Also in attendance was Sally Beard, co-trustee of the David Lean Foundation.
Adam Spiegel came to Israel with his youngest daughter Ruby, who was here for the first time.
Ahead of the screening, incoming director of the School Dana Blankstein, accompanied by deputy director Akiva Tevet, took the pair on a tour of the site of the future home of the School. The Jack Kirsh Arts Campus is being built in the center of Jerusalem and will house four arts schools. The JSFS will run two cinemas that will be open to the public.
