The editing classroom was given a new name and a facelift on November 13th in a ceremony attended by students, faculty, founding director Renen Schorr and incoming director Dana Blankstein - and by our guest of honor, Ms. Sally Beard a trustee of the David Lean Foundation, London.

Ms. Beard, who was in Israel for the first time, toured the School with her son Edward and help to affix the signs to the editing suite in memory of Sir David Lean, Britain's leading director and editor who worked closely with producer Sam Spiegel.
On Sunday November 17th the Films in the Desert Film Festival will be holding a tribute to the JSFS with a once-in-a-lifetime screening of the restored Lawrence of Arabia, Lean and Spiegel's masterpiece.
