Each year a small number of students is admitted; the staff invests great human and financial resources in developing the professional abilities and skills of the students. Since its founding, the school has defined the concept of the short film as a genre of its own, centred around a story, which aspires to emotionally move the viewer. This concept defines the film in time and in space and allows an appropriate shooting time as well as proper technical and financial backup for the different projects.
In its 19 years, the school has put together some of the most advanced curriculum and production systems in the world. Apart from theoretical studies, the curriculum of the comprehensive directors’ course includes all of the subjects of filmmaking. Each student is required to take part in the different professional roles of around 150 fiction and documentary projects of different lengths, which are being produced at the school every year. The teaching in the classroom and the experience made in the field are accompanied and guided by teachers and mentors. The curriculum is constantly examined, conclusions are being drawn, changes and updates are being made during every semester.
The school demands high credibility and reliability from its students, as well as following a tight schedule and cooperation with class members.
